Skyy Vodka

Skyy Vodka was first produced in San Fransisco, California, and has been around as one of Americas most popular alcoholic beverages for years. Skyy Vodka most popular form of advertisement is used through sexual attraction in both men and women. In the advertisement I choose, you see three people, all of them very attractive. Two of them are women and one of them male. They are all close together in an airplane in what seems to be first class, sharing a bottle of Skyy vodka. This advertisement's audience is any alcohol drinker, mainly those who seek the "rockstar" life style. This advertisement targets men and women who wish to live the lifestyle that Skyy vodka promotes, rich, famous, beautiful. It as though this advertisement is saying "drink sky vodka and you will be beautiful, rich and living the high life like us". The women in this advertisement are wearing beautiful, expensive jewelry, there bodies have an un-natural glow, and then man in the advertisement is wearing an expensive black tuxedo. They look important, suffisticated, like rockstars.  This is obviously not true, just because you purchase a bottle of Sky vodka, or drink a glass of Sky vodka does not mean you will become beautiful out of no where, or that money will come in your midst miraculously. Anther strategy they are using is addressed to men. Notice there is only one man and two women, drink this vodka and not only will you be rich beautiful and famous, but for men, women will flock to you. You will have a women for each arm. This is another point Skyy Vodka is trying to pursue with this advertisement.

Lefse pancake




A large part of my heritage comes from my fathers side. My grandmother's mother started our Norway tradition, Lefse. When the holidays come around its a dish that you will always see. My grandmother on my fathers side was always the one to prepare and bring this dish on the holidays. It's a true family favorite. This is a Norwegian dish called Lefse. It is a thin mashed potato pancake rolled in butter and sugar, sometime cinnamon too.


things you will need:


2 cups mashed potatos


1 cup of lard


sugar


butter


cinnamon


First you will need too mash up some fresh potatoes. The amount of potatoes mashed will depend on the amount of Lefse you wish to prepare.  Next roll the mashed potatoes into little 1 inch balls, then using a rolling pin, roll them out thin, like paper pancakes.Now you'll need your frying pan or skillet.  You are going to place the thin mashed potato cake on a frying pan or skillet and begin to cook them as if they were a pancake. When dark spots tend to appear on your Lefse and it starts to bubble you will need to flip it. When the same thing starts to occur on the next side, it is time to remove your Lefse from heat. You will need to roll each Lefse up in its own towel or wax paper to make sure it stays soft and does not dry out. You can cary them all in either a zip lock bag or a basket if your heading to your destination soon.
Once all your Lefse is prepared you may serve it with butter spread across the top. I suggest sprinkling either sugar or cinnamon on top of your Lefsa as well. Then roll it up like a tiny burrito and enjoy. :)
